This blog post will discuss the work of Mannarino Supersantos and his decision to use torrents in order to release his music. The implications of this decision, and the effect it has had on his musical career. As well as how he came to make such a decision. The author is Mannarino Supersantos, an Italian composer best known for combining classical with electronic music. He speaks about the history of mannari music over 180 posts which can be read at http://supersantiomusicblog.blogspot.com/. In discussing the history of music over on his blog, Mannarino Supersantos makes the following claims: "Manzarelli (the 16th century Italian composer who wrote for the Royal Chapel in Mantua) decided that the monastery choirs were too loud, so he used a mixture of vocal parts with lutes and violins. That was good enough for 15th to 17th century manzarellis. You can say that it's old-fashioned, but historically speaking it's not" (http://supersantiomusicblog.blogspot.com/search/label/Mastodonti). One of the people who did this was Cesti (a man born in 1623) - he wrote operas that include not one but two orchestras: one orchestra for the voices and another one for the instrumentalists! He's basically the father of opera. But he also did something else: around 1670 he decided to write an opera called 'Orfeo' and instead of using it to make money, he put it on free public display" (http://supersantiomusicblog.blogspot.com/search/label/Mastodonti). Included in this blog post is a link to the post: "About the author". In this Mannarino Supersantos describes himself as being from a small town called Matera, Italy. An area along the southern coast of Italy, overshadowed by the mountaintops of Basilicata and Mount Aventine. He describes it as being in an area of high unemployment, with yet the region being one of the most bio-diverse in Europe. He describe his music as being "about transformation". The following quote is from http://supersantiomusicblog.blogspot.com/search/label/Mastodonti, in which Mannarino Supersantos is describing early music. He states that "a lot of people think that early music is just made up of weird sounds, but I disagree - and I want to show you how it's possible to create original music just by re-using stuff that's already been done". cfa1e77820
